Connectivate's key purpose is to ensure collaboration among educators and all education stakeholders to connect, engage and produce positive outcomes for the student and educator alike. Key painpoints need to be addressed that would center around the pedagogic skills teachers require as leaders to be effective. We need to ask ourselves if teachers do truly have the autonomy to use their creativity in determining how their students learn best. In India, the big learning is that several factors come in the way of collaborating and growing together.

Going it alone on new discoveries would result in the drying up of meager resources and the return of schools in the rural areas to the old, archaic methods of teaching.

Collaborations with external countries would benefit India, as we would adopt the best of breed practices of high performing countries. So for this workshop, we decided to include two senior leaders of education from the US and Australia in our recent workshop.

We would also understand how collaborative leadership at all levels is promoted and established, in spite of similar competition between schools, as in India. We need to see how the 21st century technologies have impacted the advanced educational systems in terms of digitization, automation and outsourcing of various elements of teaching.

Connectivate is concerned about the big picture too. The child today knows everything from Google. The 21st Century challenges are another story. The efficiency of the linear methods of solving a problem is limited and the ability to examine an issue from various angles needs to be taught. The ability to adapt to changes requires a different kind of guided preparation.

Most importantly, collaborating with those whose ideas, perspective and values are different from our own requires the building of trust and sustained collaboration across these differences.

Innovations drive economies and the fact that innovation is a direct result of failures and setbacks has to be learned too.

To conclude, collaboration on our initial platform was an endeavor to understand the conditions and dynamics that are most conducive to learning. By bringing leaders of innovative education processes together, Connectivate aims to gather concrete evidences of innovative learning and teaching examples that would develop the student leaders of tomorrow.
